Super Eagles start preparations in Nizhny Novgorod ahead of Russia friendly

Nigeria’s Super Eagles held their first training session in Nizhny Novgorod on Saturday night as they gear up for the international friendly against Russia, DAILY POST reports.

The players and their officials arrived in Moscow for the game on Friday.

Captain Wilfred Ndidi, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Akpe Victory have already pulled out of the friendly.

Head coach Éric Chelle has already called up John Otomewo and Vince Osuji as replacements for Ndidi and Victory.

The Super Eagles will hold their final training session on Sunday.

Tuesday’s encounter will be held at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, with kick-off set for 6pm Nigerian time.

It will be the second-ever meeting between Nigeria and Russia at the senior international level.
