Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

The individual alleged to have attacked a match official after Sunday's Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday 10 encounter between Warri Wolves and Kano Pillars is now reportedly in police custody, DAILY POST reports.

The suspect has been identified as Ken, according to reports following the incident at Southern Delta University Stadium in Ozoro on Sunday.

Warri Wolves have maintained that they provided adequate security during the match and that the incident occurred outside the stadium after the referee had changed and left the venue.

The Seasiders also reportedly intervened after the incident, provided first aid and ensured the injured official received further medical attention.

They however called for a transparent investigation, accountability for the individual responsible and a fair hearing.

The NPFL are yet to make a comment on the incident.
