Suspected Lakurawa terrorists flee as troops storm workshop in Sokoto

Daily Post about 4 hours 1 mins read

Suspected members of the Lakurawa terrorist group fled after troops raided a motorcycle repair workshop allegedly being used by the group in Kware town, Kware Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The development was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, troops of the 8 Guards Task Force deployed at the Forward Operating Base in Kware carried out the operation at about 10:05 a.m. on September 11.

“The raid followed intelligence that suspected members of the group were using the workshop to repair motorcycles believed to be used for their operations.

“The suspects reportedly fled the area after they noticed the approaching troops, leaving behind two motorcycles at the workshop,” Makama wrote.

Makama further wrote that the troops recovered the motorcycles and took them away for further investigation.

Efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the fleeing suspects, while security personnel have continued surveillance and offensive operations in the area.
