Terroso Agriculture, a subsidiary of Terroso Group, has joined the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), in a move aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s cold chain infrastructure and reducing post-harvest losses across the agricultural value chain.
The partnership will enable the company to leverage global expertise, industry standards, research and strategic partnerships in developing modern cold storage facilities, temperature-controlled logistics and preservation technologies.
Nigeria continues to lose a significant proportion of its agricultural produce due to inadequate cold chain infrastructure, which affects food security, farmer incomes, and the competitiveness of the agricultural sector.
Through its membership in the GCCA, Terroso Agriculture said it plans to support investments and partnerships that will improve the preservation and transportation of perishable agricultural products from farms to markets.
The GCCA represents companies involved in temperature-controlled warehousing, logistics and transportation globally, promoting practices aimed at preserving the quality and safety of perishable products while advancing innovation, operational efficiency and sustainability in cold chain operations.
Speaking on the development, Chief Executive Officer, Terroso Group, Opeoluwa Runsewe, said the partnership would support the company’s efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s food system through improved cold chain infrastructure.

Welcoming Terroso Group to the alliance, Manager, Marketing and Communications, GCCA, Serena Moriarty, said the company’s focus on cold chain infrastructure aligned with the organisation’s objective of strengthening temperature-controlled supply chains globally.

Terroso Agriculture said it would continue to invest in cold chain infrastructure, logistics and agricultural value chains as part of efforts to improve food preservation, enhance supply chain efficiency and support long-term food security in Nigeria and across Africa.
