The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council, ADC-PCC, has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of building nothing beyond a solar farm at the Presidential Villa despite accumulating huge loans since taking office.
The council made the allegation in a statement issued by its Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, while reacting to Tinubu’s position that the focus should be on what the country builds rather than how much it borrows.
The ADC-PCC challenged the President to identify tangible projects completed with the loans obtained by his administration since 2023.
Ologbondiyan accused the government of promoting projects that have yet to deliver expected results, describing the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway and Trans-Sahara Superhighway as “audio” projects.
He also criticised the prolonged construction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway, saying its delays raised questions about the government’s infrastructure record.
“For three and a half wasted years, Tinubu government has borrowed without restraint and built nothing. No value, no legacy, no impact,” Ologbondiyan said.
The campaign council further accused the administration of leaving Nigerians to face poverty, insecurity and hardship while focusing on publicity.
It called on the National Assembly to scrutinise further loan requests and demand accountability over the country’s growing debt.
“The only thing this administration has successfully built is hardship,” the statement added.
