The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has described President Bola Tinubu as a failure, accusing his administration of worsening insecurity and economic hardship ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Baba-Ahmed made the remarks on Channels Television’s Politics Today, arguing that Tinubu had failed to deliver meaningful improvements after three and a half years in office.
He questioned reports that the president would campaign in only a few locations, insisting that Tinubu should personally engage Nigerians and explain the impact of his policies.
“He has nothing to say to Nigerians,” Baba-Ahmed said.
The PRP chairman also faulted the administration’s economic reforms, arguing that policies described as tough had imposed hardship on citizens without sufficient consideration of their consequences.
“A tough decision doesn’t have to be a good decision,” he said.
He expressed concern over children unable to attend school in communities affected by banditry and kidnapping, while dismissing the government’s economic statistics as inadequate reflections of Nigerians’ daily struggles.
Baba-Ahmed further argued that rising transportation costs and worsening insecurity undermined the administration’s claims of progress, warning that Tinubu would have to convince voters that another four-year term would improve their living conditions.
