Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to Mexico, Reno Omokri, has said President Bola Tinubu was never investigated by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.
Omokri made the assertion during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
He was reacting to the ongoing alleged drug trafficking case linked to President Tinubu.
According to him, only certain clients were indicted over suspicious funds.
“The President was not investigated by the FBI. That is a wrong statement. It’s a financial statement. Some persons were investigated by the FBI.
“The President was an accountant, and then the President had client funds. Those persons had been indicted by the FBI, and as a result of that, it said that those funds are suspicious.
“And then when it was brought to the attention of the President, the President agreed for a forfeiture,” he said.
