President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will address the nation on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the address to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary will be delivered by 7 am.
Onanuga, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, advised all television and radio stations, and other electronic media outlets to join the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria for the broadcast.
The President is currently in Lagos where he is expected to mark the August occasion.
