President Bola Tinubu on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at Iga Idunganran Palace, Lagos Island.

The visit provided an opportunity for the President to receive royal prayers and counsel from the traditional ruler for his administration.

Tinubu was received at the palace by members of the royal household and enthusiastic residents who gathered to welcome him.

Supporters, All Progressives Congress (APC) members and well-wishers lined the streets around Marina and Isale Eko as the President’s motorcade approached.

The gathering created a festive atmosphere, with residents cheering the President and expressing enthusiasm over his presence on Lagos Island.

The royal father offered prayers for Tinubu, his administration and the nation, seeking divine guidance and continued peace and prosperity.

Oba Akiolu also offered counsel to the President on matters concerning the country and the wellbeing of Nigerians.

The meeting underscored the traditional institution’s role in maintaining dialogue with the Federal Government and supporting national development.

Tinubu was accompanied by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Also accompanying the President were APC stalwarts, political associates and other dignitaries who joined him during the visit.

The President’s visit formed part of his engagements with prominent Nigerians, traditional rulers and other stakeholders since his return to Lagos.

Tinubu returned to Lagos from his working vacation and has continued meetings with important personalities and stakeholders across different sectors.

The engagements have provided opportunities for the President to interact with influential figures and exchange views on national and state-level developments.

His meeting with Oba Akiolu further strengthened the longstanding relationship between the presidency and traditional institutions in Lagos.

The Oba of Lagos, as a prominent traditional authority, remains an influential voice on issues affecting Lagos State and the country.

The President’s presence also drew significant public attention, with residents gathering along major routes to catch a glimpse of his motorcade.

The visit ended with Tinubu departing the palace after the traditional ruler’s prayers and goodwill for the President and the country.
