The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Monday said only greedy and selfish politicians would say that there is no Rainbow Coalition.
Wike encouraged Nigerians to accept the Rainbow Coalition as a way to bring people together, work together politically, and help the country grow in a lasting way.
He made the comments during a town hall meeting in Gwagwalada, Abuja.
The event was attended by traditional leaders, local government chairmen, political leaders, youth groups, and supporters of the two main political parties.
Wike said: “Some greedy and selfish politicians don’t understand what we mean by unity. They can’t even keep their own families together, or their communities united. That’s why they say there is no Rainbow Coalition.”
He explained that the Rainbow Coalition is a smart political plan that can bring together different groups, help people at the local level get involved, and support Tinubu’s government.
According to him, Nigeria needs a political movement that focuses on good government, doing a good job, and helping citizens, not just following political parties.
He added: “What is governance? Making the people happy. Never in the history of the FCT have you seen all of us sitting together like this, not to argue or fight, but to talk and understand each other for the good of the FCT and the unity of our people.”
