Nigerian gyration king Tony Oneweek Muonagor is back with another street anthem, “Poverty Unfollow Me”, released on Friday to mark Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
The track preaches peace, hope, and defiance. It rides on Tony Oneweek’s signature gyration rhythm, reinforced by Lagos-based producer DeeYasso. The song was mixed and mastered in Enugu by Emlis P Beatz and it’s already getting airplay.
This energetic, danceable record blends Tony Oneweek’s trademark gyration vibes with a bold declaration of wealth, hope, and resistance against daily hardship.
“Because I get money, you will be jealous. Because I grind my tomatoes e pepper you. Na my money I dey chop make e no pressure you. Poverty dat kind thing cannot follow me,” he sings.
According to Tony Oneweek, the former Anambra lawmaker, “This is more than a song. It’s a declaration. A prayer. A movement. If you’ve ever struggled… If you’ve ever been counted out… If you’ve ever believed that better days are ahead… Then this song is for you.”
With “Poverty Unfollow Me”, the Gyration Master cements his place as one of Nigeria’s most consistent street-pop voices, connecting with fans both on the streets and online.
