FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, has apologised for “mistakes” in his botched attempts to sell off a stake in the World Cup.
However, Infantino has shaken off calls to resign, backed by the governing body’s leaders.
Following seven hours of crisis talks in Morocco, FIFA released a statement on Wednesday night.
It claimed that its management board had re-affirmed their “full support” for Infantino.
Those who have declared their support for the FIFA president, include secretary general Mattias Grafstrom, who days ago labelled the plans to sell World Cup stakes as “a sad and reproachable series of events”.
Infantino and Grafstrom were later spotted together watching a Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, match in Rabat.
