Mbarara, October 26, 2026 — Thousands of music fans thronged Kakyeeka Stadium on Saturday night as Mbarara-born artiste TPaul, popularly known as the Kakoba Boy, delivered an electrifying homecoming concert that celebrated local talent, music and community pride.

The October 24 show brought together fans from across the region for an evening of live performances, with TPaul taking centre stage to celebrate his musical journey in front of his home crowd.

The concert opened with performances from Heli Baibe, Simon Jackson, Otinga, Queen Noreen, Angorit Veronica, SEID and Mk Craizy, who warmed up the audience with a diverse mix of sounds and performances before the headline act took over.

When TPaul stepped onto the stage, the excitement at Kakyeeka Stadium reached another level, with fans singing along to songs from his catalogue, including Bedroom Remix, Mama Rhoda, Far Away and Commando.

However, Sawa Sawa and Nyamunyonyi emerged as some of the night’s biggest highlights, drawing enthusiastic responses from fans who sang, danced and celebrated alongside the artiste.

The performance underscored TPaul’s connection with his hometown supporters, turning the concert into more than a musical show. It was an opportunity for Mbarara to celebrate one of its own and recognise the growing influence of homegrown talent in Uganda’s entertainment industry.

Beyond the stage, the concert offered fans a range of interactive experiences designed to complement the performances. An Afrocentric-themed entertainment space featured life-size Ludo and checkers games, a virtual reality gaming station and a photobooth, allowing friends and families to play, interact and capture memories.

Fans also had the opportunity to watch a live football match at the stadium, adding another attraction to an evening that combined music, games and shared entertainment.

The event was part of the broader ObaFest experience, which celebrates Uganda’s music, food, beer and cultural connections while bringing entertainment closer to communities across the country.

Speaking about the event, Lillian Kansiime, Bell Brand Representative, said TPaul’s homecoming concert provided an opportunity to celebrate both the artiste and the community that has supported his musical journey.

“ObaFest celebrates music and the people who give it life. TPaul’s concert was a fitting occasion for us to be part of because it brought Mbarara together to celebrate one of its own. We brought the ObaFest experience to the stadium so fans could enjoy the performances and connect with friends through the games, the photobooth and the live match,” Kansiime said.

She added that the strong turnout reflected the bond between local artistes and their supporters.

“Seeing Mbarara show up for TPaul was a reminder of the connection between local talent and the people who support it. That is the spirit we want to carry across the country as ObaFest moves from one region to another, celebrating Uganda’s music and the communities behind it,” she said.

Following the Mbarara concert, ObaFest is scheduled to move to Mbale, taking the festival experience to Uganda’s Eastern Region.

The next stop will continue the blend of music, food, beer and interactive entertainment, with a focus on celebrating local artistes and bringing communities together through shared cultural experiences.
