Real Madrid star, Raul Asencio, has refused to leave the club forcing Jose Mourinho’s side to change their transfer plans.
Asencio is said to prefer remaining at Santiago Bernabeu, despite the club’s attempts to push him out.
Los Blancos had intended to sign another defender before the transfer window closes, but they have now revised their plans.
Having progressed through the youth system of the Spanish giants, Asencio made his first-team debut during the 2024-25 season.
To date, he has accumulated 80 senior appearances for the club, netting two goals and assisting three times.
At 23 years old, he is reportedly not in Jose Mourinho’s plans, which led Real Madrid to seek potential buyers for the centre-back.
Nevertheless, Asencio is determined to remain at the club and compete for his position, indicating that Los Blancos are unlikely to secure a defender on transfer deadline day.
