Transfer: He’s flexible, great signing – Xabi Alonso on Chelsea’s new signing

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Chelsea boss, Xabi Alonso, has described the club’s new signing, Morgan Rogers, as a flexible player.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s first pre-season fixture against Western Sydney Wanderers on Tuesday, Alonso said that Rogers’ arrival at Stamford Bridge is a great signing.

Chelsea recently signed the England international from Aston Villa this summer transfer window.

“For sure, it’s a great signing,” Alonso said via Chelsea’s website. “In that position, we needed an important player, and there were not many better options than Morgan Rogers.

“His signing means a lot for everyone and for the players that are already here. One of his best qualities is that he is flexible.

“He plays in that pocket position, close to the striker, close to our number ten,” he said.
