Transfer: Mourinho approves Real Madrid’s move for Arsenal midfielder

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, has given the green light for the club to sign Arsenal’s Martin Zubimendi.

According to TEAMtalk, Zubimendi is back on Madrid’s radar this summer.

The 27-year-old joined the Gunners last year from Real Sociedad in a €65 million deal.

Zubimendi played a key role as Arsenal won the Premier League, although his appearances reduced significantly during the run-in.

He started just one of Arsenal‘s final games including in the Champions League final, with Myles Lewis-Skelly preferred in midfield.

Now, with Bruno Guimaraes also arriving at The Emirates, there is growing concern within Zubimendi’s camp that he is no longer as central to Mikel Arteta’s plans as he had expected.

Mourinho on the other hand, is looking to bolster his midfield options, having missed out on Rodri.
