Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho has claimed that Rodri had doubts about joining the LaLiga giants this summer.
Rodri eventually signed for Madrid’s eternal rivals, Barcelona, after deciding to leave Manchester City.
The Spain midfielder had been linked with Los Blancos, and Mourinho admits he even spoke with the player.
In an interview with Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, Mourinho made it clear that players must jump at the chance to join the Bernabeu club.
“I spoke with [Rodri] a couple of times.
“Real Madrid made him a very good offer. But Rodri had doubts; he doubted, and I think what happened is that the doubts Rodri had gave me doubts.
“He’s an extraordinary player. But I think Real Madrid are so big that we can’t have players who think twice,” Mourinho said.
