Troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade have arrested 14 suspected ISWAP collaborators and smugglers along an illegal route in Kanama, Yunusari Local Government Area of Yobe State.

According to security analyst, Zagazola Makama, the suspects were intercepted at about 5 am on October 2, 2026, by troops of the Forward Operating Base, Kanama.

The report stated that the troops acted on intelligence about the suspects who were travelling in five vehicles along an illegal route close to the military location.

Preliminary investigation reportedly indicated that the suspects were involved in smuggling activities and were suspected of collaborating with terrorists.

Among the items recovered were a large quantity of fish, 19 mobile phones, nine ATM cards, one power bank and N129,250 in cash.

“The suspects and recovered items remained in military custody for further investigation and necessary action,” Makama said.
