Troops of the 12 Brigade have arrested a suspected terrorist who was allegedly loitering near a military position in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The suspect was arrested at about 8:30 pm on September 18, 2026, by troops stationed at a blocking position in Taki.
Military sources told counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama that preliminary interrogation showed that the suspect is a herder from Ndaakwu Village in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.
The troops also recovered a mobile phone from the suspect. Initial examination of the device allegedly showed communications suspected to be connected to terrorist activities.
Items recovered from the suspect included a wristwatch, a small mirror and the sum of N83,500.
The suspect remains in military custody as investigations continue to determine his possible links to terrorist activities and establish the nature of his involvement.
