Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY), have arrested several suspects and intercepted a consignment of ammunition during separate operations in Kaduna State.
According to the military, the operations were conducted on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in Kubau, Igabi and Birnin Gwari Local Government Areas of the state.
Terrorist Kingpin Arrested
In the early hours of Wednesday, troops of Sector 1 conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, described by the military as a known hideout of terrorists in Kubau Local Government Area.
The operation resulted in the arrest of a suspected terrorist kingpin and two other members of his alleged syndicate.
The military said the suspects have been taken into custody for further investigation.
Female Ammunition Courier Intercepted
In a separate operation on the same day, troops acting on intelligence concerning the movement of terrorist ammunition arrested a 50-year-old woman in Igabi Local Government Area.
The suspect was allegedly found with **300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag**, according to the military.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the woman had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
She and the recovered ammunition remain in military custody as investigations continue.
Logistics Supplier Arrested
Later on Wednesday, troops of Sector 1, working with a community vigilante group, also apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
During interrogation and a subsequent search, troops recovered four communication devices allegedly suspected to have been used by terrorists.
The suspect and recovered items were also taken into military custody for further investigation.
Military Vows To Disrupt Terrorist Networks
The military said the operations demonstrate the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupting terrorist networks, restricting the movement of criminal elements and preventing the movement of arms, ammunition and other logistics across its area of operations.
The Joint Task Force also commended members of the public for their continued support and urged residents to remain vigilant.
It called on citizens to promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
