Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Nigerian troops of Sector 7, Operation Enduring Peace, have foiled an attempted kidnapping along the Godogodo–Gidan Waya road in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The troops also rescued a man identified as Baba, who sustained gunshot wounds during the incident.

The development was disclosed in a Friday post on X by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region.

According to security sources, the incident occurred at about 12:09 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, after troops deployed at Godogodo received a report of an attempted abduction.

The troops reportedly responded swiftly to the scene, disrupting the operation and forcing the suspected kidnappers to flee.

Baba, who was injured during the attack, was rescued by the troops and evacuated to the General Hospital, Gidan Waya, for medical treatment.

The sources said efforts were ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
