Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have rescued 10 National Examinations Council (NECO) candidates and teachers who were abducted by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists during an attack on a secondary school in Borno State.

According to security sources, the incident occurred at about 9:00 a.m. on Monday when the insurgents attacked the Technical Secondary School in Lassa Community, Askira/Uba Local Government Area, while students were writing their NECO examination.

The attackers reportedly abducted several examination candidates and teachers before escaping into the surrounding bush.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that troops of Operation Hadin Kai later launched a rescue operation, leading to the safe recovery of 10 of the abducted victims.

The sources said efforts were ongoing to locate and rescue any remaining victims, while security operations continue in the area.
