The development was disclosed in a post shared on X by crisis reporter in the North-West region, Bakastine.

According to Bakastine, the troops also arrested four suspected bandits during the operation.

The women were abducted on Friday night when gunmen invaded Dirin Daji community in Sakaba Local Government Area.

The attackers also shot two other women during the assault. One sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach, while the other was shot in the buttock.

The injured women were taken to the General Hospital for treatment, according to local sources cited in the report.

The initial report said security personnel had attempted to rescue the abducted women shortly after the attack but were unsuccessful.

The rescue brings relief amid continued security concerns in the area, where residents have faced attacks and kidnappings by armed groups.
