The number of games that Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen would miss due to his recent injury have been revealed.
Osimhen is expected to miss three matches due to an adductor muscle strain sustained during Galatasaray’s 3-2 win over Istanbul Başakşehir on Friday evening.
The former Napoli forward sustained the injury in the first half after scoring the opening goal for his team.
The Nigeria international was subsequently substituted in the 33rd minute by Turkish winger Barış Alper Yılmaz after he sustained the injury.
After a medical evaluation, it was confirmed that he had sustained a groin injury.
As reported by Turkish outlet Le Marca Sports, the Nigerian international is expected to miss Galatasaray’s next three fixtures across all competitions.
Osimhen will be unavailable for the UEFA Champions League match against Sporting Lisbon, as well as the Super Lig games against Kocaelispor and Trabzonspor.
This injury poses a huge concern for Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk, who will be eager to have his star striker available as the club pursues success in both domestic and European competitions.
