Former Flying Eagles star, Simon Zenke has voiced surprise over Arsenal and Manchester United's decision not to sign Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen before he joined Galatasaray.
He asserted that the Premier League powerhouses may be regretting their decision over the missed opportunity.
Osimhen moved to the Turkish club from Napoli after several reports linked him with numerous elite European clubs, namely Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.
The former Lille man ultimately decided to move to Rams Park, where he has become an integral part of the Istanbul-based outfit.
Zenke told Türkiye Gazetesi via Habersarikirmizi that Osimhen's signing was a significant strategic opportunity for Galatasaray, given the striker's valuation at that time.
"I believe this represented a genuine opportunity signing for Galatasaray given that his market valuation exceeded 100 million Euros (N152 billion) at that period," Zenke stated.
"I was really surprised that none of the big European clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United, who needed a striker at the time, were after him. I think they regret it now after seeing his performance in Türkiye."
Following his arrival at Galatasaray, Osimhen has accumulated 68 goals and contributed 19 assists across 83 competitive matches.
