President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigeria's Flamingos to give their best when they face Japan in the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
The Flamingos booked their place in the final after defeating Brazil 3-1 in their semi-final clash in Rabat on Wednesday night.
Akeem Busari's side will now aim to make history by becoming the first African nation to win the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
Ahead of the final, Tinubu urged the players to maintain the determination and fighting spirit that had taken them to the last stage of the competition.
"I encourage you to approach the final with the same fighting spirit and belief that have brought you this far. I have confidence in your ability to make history by winning the coveted world title," the President said in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Nigeria will face Japan at Pitch 3 of the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat on Saturday.
The final is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. Nigerian time, as the Flamingos seek to crown their impressive campaign with a historic world title.
