U-23 AFCONQ: DR Congo to face Nigeria after eliminating Mauritania

Nigeria’s U-23 Eagles will face the Democratic Republic of Congo in the second round of the 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, DAILY POST reports.

DR Congo booked a date with the U-23 Eagles after eliminating Mauritania 2-1 on aggregate in the first round.

In the first leg, played in Nouakchott, the Leopards suffered a 1-0 defeat.

Guy Bukasa’s side rallied to win the reverse fixture 2-0, with Mabete and Candidat Mapendo finding the target.

DR Congo will host Nigeria in the first leg at the TP Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi on Monday, November 9, 2026.

Nigeria will host the reverse fixture at a yet-to-be-named venue on Tuesday, November 17, 2026.
