UBA, Fidelity Bank Secure NGX Approval to Declay H1 2026 Result

United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) and Fidelity Bank Plc, yesterday notified market stakeholders of obtaining approval from the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) to extend the deadline for the publication of its audited financial statements (AFS) for the half-year ended June 30, 2026.

According to a statement posted on the Exchange, both  UBA are expected to submit H1 2026 audited on or before September 30, 2026.    

The Group Company Secretary/Legal Counsel, UBA, Bili Odum in a statement  stated that the board of Directors approved the Bank’s Financial Statements for the H1 2026 at its meeting held on August 13, 2026, however,  the approval of the primary regulator is required before the release of the Results.

The statement added that,  “In this regard, the bank has requested and obtained approval of the NGX for an extension of time to file the results on or before September 30, 2026, subject to obtaining the requisite regulatory approvals for the publication of the Results.

“The Bank’s insiders are hereby reminded that the previously declared Closed Period in respect of transactions in the Bank’s securities remains in effect until 24 hours after the publication of the Results.”

Also, the Company Secretary, Fidelity Bank, Ezinwa Unuigboje stated that the  audited H1 2026 is currently being finalized and upon completion, the AFS shall be presented to the CBN for approval and thereafter, published in compliance with the provisions of the Exchange’s Rulebook and other relevant 

statutes/regulations. 

“Premised on the foregoing, the approval of the NGX was obtained for an extension of time to September 30, 2026, subject to receipt of regulatory approval from the CBN for the H1 2026 audited accounts. 

“The Company’s Insiders and their Connected Persons are reminded that the trading window for dealing in its shares is currently closed and shall remain closed until 24 hours after publication of the AFS for H1 2026,” Fidelity Bank said in a statement .

As at the close of trading transactions yesterday, the stock price of UBA dropped by 1.44 per cent to close at N44.45 per share, while Fidelity Bank depreciated by six per cent to close at N18.80 per share on NGX.
