UCL: I still have nightmares about Arsenal losing final – Thierry Henry

Daily Post 5 days 1 mins read

Former Arsenal captain, Thierry Henry, has admitted he still has nightmares about the Premier League club failing to win the 2006 Champions League final.

Henry was part of the squad that lost 2-1 to Barcelona in Paris.

The Frenchman failed to find the back of the net, as Arsenal threw away a 1-0 goal lead to lose.

Arsene Wenger’s men were reduced to 10 men in the first half after Jens Lehmann was shown a red card for a last-man tackle.

They however took the lead through a Sol Campbell header, before Barca scored two late goals through Samuel Eto’o and Juliano Belletti.

Henry, speaking on CBS Sports on Wednesday night, said: “We’re in the final, I’m over the moon. But you don’t want to lose a final.

“I still have it in my head. I still have nightmares about it. It is not easy to digest.

“Let’s see what is going to happen.”
