Former Besiktas midfielder, Sinan Engin has described Victor Osimhen’s on-field display against Stuttgart in the UEFA Champions League encounter as “mediocre”.
Engin, however, argued that the striker’s mere presence was enough to let midfielder Aleksey Batrakov shine against Stuttgart.
He spoke after Galatasaray defeated the Bundesliga club 2-0 at Rams Park on Tuesday, thanks to Batrakov's brace.
"I think Batrakov will score 7-8 goals in the Champions League. He's a good player, he deserves the praise," Engin said as quoted by Asist Analiz.
"Today, Osimhen being mediocre on the field didn't end up creating a negative impact, but he won with his presence on the field.
"If there was another player there, Batrakov couldn't play this comfortably," Engin said.
Galatasaray will now face Amed SK in the Turkish Super Lig clash this weekend.
