Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

Tolu Arokodare scored his maiden goal as Ajax defeated Swiss club Sion 4-2 in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League playoff tie on Thursday night.

Arokodare, who started the game on the bench, replaced Marcos Leonardo 18 minutes from time.

The Nigeria international netted the visitors’ third goal of the encounter in the 74th minute.

The striker then teed up Davy Klaassen for Ajax’s fourth goal three minutes from time.

Arokodare will hope to put in another impressive showing when Ajax host the reverse fixture at the Johan Cruyff Arena next Thursday.

The winner will secure a place in the league phase of the 2026/27 UEFA Europa Conference League.
