Public Opinions is set to recognise Uganda’s Best 100 Law Firms in appreciation of promoting and upholding international best practices and standards in legal industry. The best 100 law firms in Uganda will be inducted in the Public Opinions Journal for Best 100 law firms to be distributed to over 4000 CEOs in Uganda, members of parliament, government officials, Local Government officials, as well as diplomatic missions in Uganda.
Public Opinions is recognising these entities with the Responsible Investment Global Award for advancing Uganda Vision 2040, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and the 30 principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Eligible firms are also noted for employing Ugandans—particularly youth and female lawyers—remitting taxes, and engaging in robust corporate social responsibility.
Selection is anchored on rigorous peer reviews, demonstrable case outcomes, transaction volume, and client feedback. Evaluation prioritizes high-value cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), pioneering energy and infrastructure advisory, intellectual property (IP), dispute resolution, and active pro bono or public interest legal aid participation.
Team Leader of Public Opinions Luzindana Adam Buyinza emphasized that the initiative inspires compliance with international human rights and sustainable development frameworks. Following a comprehensive nationwide survey, institutional leaders were also honored, including Dr. Pius Bigirimana (Secretary to the Judiciary) as Uganda Judicial Reforms Champion, and Dr. Damulira Sengonzi (Undersecretary, Ministry of Finance) as Finance Management Champion.
Historical laureates include President Museveni (Uganda Peace and Development Champion) and Kenyan President William Ruto (East Africa Investment Champion). Furthermore, individual legal luminaries were distinguished: Edwin Karugire was named Best Energy Law Lawyer in 2025, Dr. Allan Shonubi was listed among the top 10 lawyers, and Mr. Cephas Barata was recognized among the top 5 lawyers in Uganda.
