Osborn Nweze Umahi, son of the Minister of Works and former Governor of Ebonyi State, Senator David Umahi, has been sworn in as Chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state.
Osborn, a 28-year-old businessman and politician, took the oath of office on Tuesday following his victory in the recently concluded local government election.
The inauguration was attended by political leaders, government officials and other dignitaries, including the Minister of Works, who witnessed his son’s formal assumption of office.
Osborn’s emergence has attracted attention, particularly because of his age and entry into elective politics at the grassroots level.
As chairman, he is expected to focus on development initiatives, youth empowerment, infrastructure and improved service delivery across the local government area.
The ceremony also marked a notable political moment for the Umahi family, with the minister present as his son formally assumed an elective position in the state.
