President Bola Tinubu has arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The President landed at the King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, on Thursday night.
He was received by the Nigerian ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Yakubu Gambo, and Saudi’s head of Royal Protocol, Ahmad bin Thafir.
Tinubu is in the country to perform Umrah, an Islamic spiritual exercise involving a pilgrimage to the Holy City.
He departed Abuja for Makkah on Thursday afternoon.
The event is an opportunity for spiritual reflection, devotion, and prayers for the nation’s peace, unity, stability, and continued progress, Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the President will perform the religious rites associated with Umrah, seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.
He is expected back in the country next week.
