UNL: ‘What goes around comes around’ – Ronaldo’s sister, Elma warns Jesus over brother’s treatment

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s surprise departure from the Portugal national team, his sister, Elma Aveiro, has said that her brother was betrayed.

The Portugal captain chose to withdraw from the team’s camp prior to the UEFA Nations League match against Denmark.

Following the announcement, journalist Edu Aguirre disclosed that Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to leave Portugal stemmed from Jorge Jesus’ treatment of the legendary footballer.

During his appearance on El Chiringuito TV, Aguirre stated that Jesus had assured Ronaldo he would publicly apologise for instructing the Al-Nassr forward to prepare for the match against Norway and subsequently failing to bring him on as a substitute.

However, the Portugal coach failed to honour his commitment and demonstrated his authority over the squad during his media appearance. Jesus did not offer an apology, which reportedly provoked the Portugal captain, prompting his departure.

Elma Aveiro was among the first individuals to respond to the situation with a forceful declaration on social media. Subsequently, she has reiterated her criticism of the treatment of her brother.

Describing the treatment as betrayal, Elma cautioned those implicated in the matter, invoking the principle of karma, which posits that actions have consequences.

She shared on her Instagram story: “Betrayal is a dish best served cold, and what goes around comes around. The only way is the way forward.”

Ronaldo has announced that he will disclose the circumstances surrounding his departure from the national team in the coming days.

Supporters are anticipating further developments regarding the legendary footballer, with speculation that he may retire following the episode.
