The reconstructed gate of Kwara state government house, along the upgraded and beautified Ahmadu Bello way, Ilorin now capital by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is bringing a beauty to behold.
The very robust security systems that effectively control vehicle access, and the giant horse couple with the beautiful illumination make the new gate of the joints of taking partners and visitors for snapshots and visual media centers creation.
Speaking on the development, Commissioner for Housing and urban Development, Segun Ogunsola stated that the architecture and architectural concept of the new government house gate followed the Kwara State government’s commitment to urban revitalization, mirroring that a safe, smart, sleek aesthetics.
“That is where we try to capture the current revitalization, by modernizing not just the governor’s house, but other parts of the capital city to ensure that that’s what is being showed through the new government house gate: modern reflections of our collective identity and modernity.”
As we can see in other parts of the world, we don’t forget we are a people rich in culture. We used to display the concepts of horses, in ancient times, the “right in front of that gate” is a horse statue that exhibits a context showing that a proud heritage with the popular Durbar that happens annually in Ilorin and also other parts of Kwara, popular centers, like the Durbar of Ilorin, Edu, Lafiagi, and co. These are statues that exhibit what Kwara is, and the black statues reveal power, and cultural heritage.
So, overall, what we’re trying to validate with the government house gates “for need”.
Most of you Google Kwara on YouTube, you’ll realized that a lot of monuments starting from that of Post Office, have begun to symbolise Kwara, with all due respect, people always fancy monuments that are landmarks on board as a government-the-commissioner-said-it-is.
Mr Ogunsola further explained that the new Kwara challenges dynamic away, has been criticized sector as a state in Kwara Kwara state Capital; the center gate is being validated as a focus of Ilorin, government house capital.
He reiterated that government house gate has became a monument that a lot of people now can relate the state capital of Kwara state to.
“We have to the world of social media, which you need visual proof that, that’s Kwara, the state is still testing, because the center can be identified using some of these monuments, not just as a state, but identifying them in a global stage using some of these monuments that we have put in place,” the commissioner said.
