US election: Iran doing everything to drive up price of oil - Trump cries out

US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of taking measures to drive up global oil prices ahead of the United States midterm elections.

Trump alleged that Iran was fabricating reports of attacks and mines in the Strait of Hormuz to influence oil prices.

The president made the allegations in a post on his Truth Social account on Thursday.

He claimed that more oil was passing through the Strait of Hormuz than before the conflict began, despite what he described as Iran’s attempts to disrupt the market.

Trump also accused the Iranian government of killing protesters and others who oppose its actions, describing the regime as evil.

He further claimed that 75,000 protesters had been killed in less than seven months, expressing concern over what he called the lack of response from the international community and the Democratic Party.

“IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON, AND THEY WILL NEVER A NUCLEAR WEAPON!” Trump wrote.

The US president’s remarks come amid concerns over oil prices and tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear ambitions and activities in the Strait of Hormuz, a major global oil shipping route.

DAILY POST reports that the US midterm elections are scheduled for November 2026.
