Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The United States Embassy in Abuja and Consulate General in Lagos are to shutdown in observance of the US Independence Day.

The announcement was made in a post on the US mission’s official social media handle on Thursday.

The post read,  “The US Embassy in Abuja and Consulate General in Lagos will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of US Independence Day.”

The US Independence Day, also known as the Fourth of July, is celebrated every year on July 4.

It marks the adoption of the United States Declaration of Independence in 1776, when the thirteen American colonies declared their independence from Great Britain.
