US military strikes 90 targets in Iran

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The United States military said it has carried out another round of airstrikes against Iran, targeting about 90 military sites along the country’s coastline.

This was disclosed in a statement via X on Thursday by the U.S. Central Command, CENTCOM.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes were aimed at further degrading Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping and civilian vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The military said the targets included air defence systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage facilities, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure.

CENTCOM said the operation followed a similar wave of strikes carried out the previous night.

On Tuesday, U.S. forces said they struck about 80 Iranian military targets, including more than 60 boats belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, IRGC.

The U.S. military said those strikes were launched in response to Iran’s alleged violation of a ceasefire by attacking three commercial vessels navigating the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM said U.S. forces remain on high alert and are prepared to conduct further operations as directed by the U.S. president.
