The United States has offered a reward of up to $20 million for information about Iran’s nuclear program, including its facilities, equipment, and personnel.
The US Central Command, CENTCOM, announced the offer on Friday through a statement posted on its official X account.
According to CENTCOM, the State Department’s Rewards for Justice program is offering up to $20 million, alongside possible relocation, to individuals who provide credible information about Iran’s nuclear activities.
The information sought includes details about nuclear facilities, equipment, and individuals associated with the program, particularly members of Iran’s scientific community.
The Rewards for Justice program was established in 1984 to provide financial incentives for information that could protect American lives and national security interests.
In its statement, the US State Department expressed concerns over Iran’s compliance with the International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, safeguards obligations.
It said the alleged lack of compliance had affected the agency’s ability to monitor Iran’s production and inventory of key nuclear components, including centrifuges.
However, the US government did not specify the particular information required to qualify for the maximum $20 million reward.
The announcement comes despite repeated claims by US President Donald Trump that American military operations had effectively destroyed Iran’s nuclear program.
Trump also reiterated on Friday that Tehran was interested in reaching an agreement with Washington to end the ongoing conflict.
