The United States' offer of remuneration for information about Iran’s nuclear program contradicts the repeated claim of "obliteration" by President Donald Trump and his administration officials.

In a statement on Friday, the Department of State's Rewards for Justice announced up to $20 million as a reward, as well as a possible relocation of informant(s).

Washington is seeking accurate intelligence on Iran's nuclear facilities, equipment, and associated personnel, such as those in the scientific community.

Checks by DAILY POST show that on June 25, 2025, the White House issued a release titled "Iran’s Nuclear Facilities Have Been Obliterated — and Suggestions Otherwise are Fake News."

In the opening line, the US presidency assured "the world is far safer" after President Trump’s "highly successful, decisive precision strikes against the Iranian regime’s key nuclear facilities."

Trump had declared: "Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images," adding that "Obliteration is an accurate term! ... The biggest damage took place far below ground level."

The statement included quotes by US officials, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine, and ex-Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

Others were Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi, Israeli military chief Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and the Atomic Energy Commission, and heads of institutes, who remarked about the degradation of Iran's nuclear sites.

The White House publication followed American military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 21–22, 2025, in Operation Midnight Hammer, which targeted nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Meanwhile, President Trump is reportedly being urged to launch a new major military campaign against Iran, before Democrats take control of Congress in January.

NBC News reported that VP Vance favors negotiations, while Secretary Hegseth is pushing for renewed strikes on nuclear locations and oil and gas infrastructure.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards are mobilising military capabilities ahead of a possible third round of warfare, according to spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi.

At a presser marking the IRGC’s Aerospace Week on Saturday, Mohebbi said the military was prepared to "unveil surprises" that would astonish the world "if circumstances warrant it."

Iran is reviewing proposals presented by Qatari mediators to address differences with the US over Tehran's nuclear program, and to reach a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking at Oxford University on Friday, Qatar's Prime Minister said the US administration remained committed to a diplomatic solution despite the midterm election outcome.
