Controversial social media critic VeryDarkMan has teased a diss track aimed at singer Davido, deepening a feud that began with a viral wedding video. Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has since drawn criticism online for her reaction to the preview.
VeryDarkMan, real name Martins Vincent Otse, shared a studio preview of the song on his Instagram page on Wednesday. He titled it “On My Kneels” and said it features rapper Zlatan’s signature slang, adding that it would be out soon on streaming platforms.
His caption read: “On my kneels FT ZLATAN …OUT SOON. I want see the worst that can happen.” The full song had not been released as of Thursday.
The row started after a clip from Zlatan’s wedding welcome party in Morocco showed Davido singing along to lyrics from Zlatan’s song “INFERNO”. Many online readers took the lyrics as a swipe at VeryDarkMan.
VeryDarkMan has since responded in several videos, warning Zlatan he would “learn the hard way”. He also challenged Davido and his associates to present receipts after an X user claimed the singer once flew him to Lagos and paid for a five-star hotel. He denied ever getting such help.
Rita Edochie reacted to the diss track preview with a string of dancing emojis in the comment section. The move did not sit well with some fans, who felt a woman of her stature should not take sides in a fight between younger entertainers.
One user wrote: “You sef try dey respect yourself madam. wetin u dey find for here?” Another described her support for the feud as “very disgusting”, while others said she should know when to stop commenting.
Some social media users backed VeryDarkMan, while others asked why he dragged Davido into what they saw as a dispute mainly between him and Zlatan. Neither Davido nor Zlatan had publicly responded to the diss track preview at the time of this report.
