Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested three persons in connection with the alleged killing of a man in Gwaram Town, Alkaleri Local Government Area, following a breakthrough that came after one of the suspects was found with the victim’s motorcycle.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, saying the arrests were made during an ongoing investigation into a culpable homicide case reported at the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters on March 7, 2026.

Habib said the first suspect, Muhammad Umar, popularly known as “Jijji”, was apprehended on June 19 while allegedly riding a motorcycle traced to the deceased.

According to the police, Umar’s arrest provided fresh leads that resulted in the apprehension of two other suspects identified as Usman M. Gidado, 45, and Danladi Yakubu, alias “Pagaj”, 35, both from Gwaram Town.

The spokesman said investigators recovered the motorcycle believed to belong to the deceased during the operation.

“The suspect was arrested in possession of a motorcycle belonging to the deceased victim. Information obtained during interrogation aided the arrest of two other suspects linked to the incident,” Habib stated.

He added that the suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for further investigation, while the recovered motorcycle has been retained as an exhibit.
