VIDEO [2027] Makinde Promises To Serve One Term If Elected As President

Channels TV about 2 hours 1 mins read

As campaigns intensify for the 2027 elections, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate Seyi Makinde has promised to serve a single four-year term if he becomes Nigeria’s leader next year.

The Oyo State governor spoke at an APM town hall meeting in Yola, Adamawa State, on Saturday and promised to address the challenges facing the country, including insecurity and poverty, among others.

“Our government will not last beyond four years. And it will be an all-inclusive government,” Makinde said at the event.

Makinde’s promise mirrors that of his Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) counterpart, Peter Obi, who also vowed to serve a single four-year term if elected as president.

Their moves are in line with the unwritten power-sharing deal between the northern region and the southern part of Nigeria. Incumbent President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is from the south and is vying for re-election next year.
