The chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Aisha Yesufu, has said Nigerian children and youths need politics that delivers good governance, guarantees their safety and secures their future.

She spoke on Thursday during Channels Television’s special Independence Day programme, titled ‘Generation Next: Youth, Power & The Future We Must Build’.

Yesufu, who is known for her activism before joining politics, said she has not abandoned advocacy for politics but is bringing advocacy into the political space.

“A lot of people look at it and say, have you left advocacy for politics? No, I’m not leaving advocacy for politics, I am taking advocacy into politics. We need the kind of politics that will give good governance for every Nigerian child or youth to feel safe and their future secured,” she said.
