The candidate of the African Democratic Party (ADC) for the February 16, 2027, governorship election in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has condemned the use of tear gas canisters during the sixth anniversary of #EndSARS at the Lekki Toll Gate.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Wednesday, Rhodes-Vivour accused the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government of normalising the lack of empathy for Nigerians who lost their lives during the October 2020 protest against police brutality.
“They are normalising this bullying system of governance that has come to describe what the APC government has become, and the citizen is going to have to really understand what is at stake here because we need a government that actually understands that lives were lost on this day,” he said. “Innocent citizens were killed.”
