[VIDEO] Young People Should Emulate Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar’s Commitment To Justice, Unity — Yakubu Gowon

 

Former military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd.), has called on Nigerians to emulate a former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.), whose commitment to unity is exemplary.

He made the call at the unveiling of three books to mark the 84th birthday of Abubakar on Saturday.

Gowon, who was the Chairman on the occasion, described Abubakar as a consummate patriot and good general who served Nigeria and made sure that it remained united.

He also hailed him as one who oversaw the fastest and most seamless transition from military to civilian rule in recent history, and commended him for his commitment to peacebuilding in Nigeria and other African nations.
