Malawi captain Tabitha Chawinga has said the Scorchers must be brave in their approach when they face Nigeria’s Super Falcons, DAILY POST reports
Lovemore Fazili’s side will take on the defending champions in their first-ever Women’s Africa Cup of Nations game at the Al Madina Stadium, Rabat tonight.
The Group C encounter will kick-off at 9pm Nigeria time.
The confrontation has all the hallmarks of a David versus Goliath clash with record 10-time champions Nigeria favourites to secure maximum points.
Chawinga, who will spearhead Malawi’s attack along with his sister Themwa said it is important for them not to show inferiority complex when they confront Justine Madugu’s side.
“It was my dream to play in the WAFCON. The time has come. We know Nigeria’s worth. They are a great nation but we must focus on ourselves. Our players need to compete without any inferiority complex,” Chawinga said ahead of the game.
