Super Falcons bounced back from their shock defeat to Malawi, to beat Zambia 1-0 at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, on Saturday.
It was a valuable three points for Nigeria, who are the defending champions at the tournament.
The winning goal came as early as the 8th minute of the match.
Asisat Oshoala’s strike proved decisive for Justin Madugu’s team, who were reduced to 10 before the half-time break.
The Falcons now need another win against Egypt in their last group fixture, to book their spot in the knockout stages.
The North Africans are yet to win any game in the competition, as they lost 2-0 to Group C leaders, Malawi.
