“Walking Is Now Difficult For Me” – Pete Edochie

InformationNG about 2 hours 2 mins read

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has said that he is currently struggling to walk and has been experiencing swelling in different parts of his body.

Edochie made the disclosure while visiting ailing Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah in Accra, Ghana, on Thursday, in a video now circulating online.

During the emotional visit, Edochie prayed for Armah’s recovery and offered financial support towards his care.

Speaking about his own health, the veteran actor said he remained hopeful of recovering despite his current physical difficulties.

“Sitting down here, I’m not very well myself. Walking is a problem for me now, but I still have hope that I will recover myself.

“Sometimes I get up, and parts of my body are swollen. After some time, it goes down again. Like my hand is swollen now,” he said.

Edochie also expressed concern about becoming a burden to those around him, saying he had asked God to take his life when his time came rather than leave others to care for him

“I just keep asking God, ‘You are the author of life. Whenever you feel it’s time for me to go, just take me, don’t let me bother the people who are around me. Just take me,’” he said.

Edochie’s comments came during his visit to Armah, who has been battling an illness for nearly 11 years.

“It is my belief that you will recover one day,” he told Armah.
Ghana Web reports that on the visit, Armah’s wife, Stella Amina Armah, said his health problems began while he was working in the United States.

She said he had high blood pressure without knowing it and also developed elevated cholesterol levels.

Armah is currently undergoing physiotherapy and receiving daily massages as part of his care, according to his wife.

The visit reportedly left Edochie emotional as he saw the condition of his Ghanaian colleague, whom he had gone to support.

The actor has continued to express hope for Armah’s recovery while also offering assistance towards his treatment.
